Many Things About Tomorrow, I Don't Seem To Understand

I don't know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood.

Here in this verse i find that the author has already found faith in the Lord, he says that his path to travel may brings poverty, or meet with all types of problems be it flame or flood but his trust in in the Lord allows him to travel with confidence, a confidence that God will lead the way.

He is the one who feeds the sparrow, this line reminds me of another hymn, "His eyes is on the Sparrow". This hymn say that that God's eyes in on the sparrow, and i know he watched me, so i will sing, because i am happy, because i am free! Can we be as like what this hymn says: Sing, because God is watching over us, hand all our sorrows and grieves to Him and trust in Him all our life and hence be happy and free? It is not as easy as it sounds... many a times on our mouth we say we have faith that God will guide and help us, but when really when we meet with difficulties, do we first leave it to God?

But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood.
This 2 lines lead me to think back during the time at of the Exodus, when the Israelites crossed the Red Sea... this crossing of red sea symbolize baptism.
In this 2 line, it says that His presense goes before us and we are covered with His blood. The Israelites, after they have crossed the red sea, God went before them as the Pillar of Clouds by day and Pillar of Fire by night.
But if we continue to read the book of Exodus, we will know that after that many a times the Israelites sined against God, they longed for their life back in Eygpt. Even though God was so visible to them at the time, all the miracles, the pillars of clouds and fire, His presence among them in the Tablenacle, but still, with God so near them they still commited evil before Him.
Today just like the Israelites, we went through baptism, this hymn tells us that His presence goes before us, will we be like the Israelites though chosen by God, lead out from the world (Eygpt) but still long for the world, and betrays the Blood of Jesus Christ? We are all covered with His blood because we have gone throught the Baptism, we are conscecrated, the Holy priesthood of God. So lets learn from the Israelites, lets not repeat the history and fail, but try our very best, trust in the Lord, and endure to the very end...

It is not easy, as life is full of trials and temptations. But always know that we are in the world but not of the world. Hope that i myself even though know all these theories, when faced with trials and temptations am able to withstand and trust in the Lord.
