Footprints in the Sand
One night a man had a dream.
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life

He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest

and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

"The LORD replied:"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that
I carried you."

I loved this passage ever since I saw it, and the first time I saw this was on a bookmark given to me by my counselor in the 1994 Bible Camp. Though I think I have lost this bookmark, but the passage in it has always left its footprint in my heart.
Indeed often in our life when we feel very low and down, we always think that the Lord is not with us, He does not care about us. This happened to me many times too, I would ask why God let me face all these problems and do not seem to care about me, leaving me to face these problems alone. But when I thought of the footprints in the sand, it would always bring me comfort and strength to face the problems on hand.
So today, since we knoweth that our Lord is walking beside us or is carrying us in our life and also in our path to the Kingdom of God, we should learn to place our complete trust in Him. And most importantly, we must make sure that we are able to always walk beside Him and not fall away by sinning against Him. Because when we sin, we will be putting a wall between us and Him and also when we sin we will be of the satan and thus we will not be walking with our Lord!
Hope I can emulate Enoch, because he had walked with God always all his life and did not fall away from the grace of God. So today if we had sin against our Lord, lets all repent and u-turn from where we are, and then walk blamelessly beside our Lord and He will guide us and carry us in our times of need."

Hey Maria,
Nice to hear from you. Sorry have not been online so seldom have chance to chat.
Study life is a bit stress at the moment to be truthful. Just had a test 2 days ago and its only the 2nd week into the semester.... Hope i can cope... i think i would only enjoy my student's life when exam over and holiday comes :)
How about you? how are you? Working? Permanent job or still temp? So coming singapore?

Haha, the holiday is the best bit of student life - i miss that!
It'll be ok, once you get used to all the classes, tests and studying.
Doing temp job at the moment, may be there until July.
