First 2 weeks in Sydney
So it has been 2 weeks into the new chapter of my life. I cant say that i have gotten used to the life here because am so call still in my honeymoon period here as school has not started yet and things are still pretty relax at the moment :)
Here i want to say a big thank you to all the gifts that i have received and to all the people who were at the airport to send me off though my plane was a such a late hour in the night (hope it did not affect the youth service attendance the next day:) and especially to Mints who i understand had to rush off from a wedding dinner to come.
And also thank you people for spending time with me in all the meals the week before i flew off. Really enjoyed myself with all the good food and more importantly the company ;)
At the Sydney airport, it was Hao who met me and fetched me with his new old 2nd hand HONDA :) he is so proud of his car coz it only cost him A$3000. Its a nice car actually accept the noise pollution produces and when we are going up the slopes :) haha.
And for the first week, i bunked in an apartment where 3 brothers rented (Vincent, Kian and Andy). It so happened that Vincent was away for the week so i slept in his room. And also Andy helped me get my nice handphone number 0410000234 (+61410000234). In-coming is free, so feel free to call me :) haha. For those people in Singapore, you can still sms me at my sing number 96653810, do drop me a sms once in a while as i get lonely without this sms, heehee.
Then on Tues after i arrived, Hao fetched me to school settle the logistic stuffs and to look for a permanent place to stay. Thank God for His guidance once again, getting a permanent place to stay was quite smooth for me. All it took was a short visit to the international student office in my school, a quick look at the notice board, and took down the first notice that Hao and me think was suitable, a quick call, and half an hour later we got to view the place and it was very suitable. It is a house owned by a Malaysian lady in her 50s who grew up in Brunei. She moved here to Sydney 3 years ago and is stayng alone, another tenant at the house is a 18 years old Indonesian boy. All my breakfast and dinners during the weekdays will be cooked by the Aunty. And everything was settled and i moved in on Sunday, a week after i arrived here. Thank God really as people say normally it would not be so easy to find a suitable place so fast. Anyway some pictures of my room:

On the first Wed, when i was still staying in the brothers' apartment. The UCF (Uni Campus Fellowship) gathered at the apartment for a welcome dinner gathering. My first Sabbath service here is more or less a shock experience for me, coz it is really a very very long and packed day in church :) The rough Sabbath day program (note the exact timings here may be a bit wrong, coz there were many programs and it became sort of hazy for me) would usually start at about 10am which is a prayer session till about 10.45, then is hymn singing till 11, then morning service till about 12pm, then another hymn session till 12.15 to learn the hymns from within the 530 hymns. Then is lunch till about 12.45pm, then is Youth Bible class (sort of theolo style lessons) till about 2.15, then hymn singing the afternoon service till about 4pm, then choir from 5 to 6.30, then after choir Youth Service Bible study where we will break into groups to discuss some qns and after that present till about 8pm. Then for last week because we had 2 sisters visiting one from UK, Portsmouth and one from Auckland, NZ and including me who was new, and another brother who is new and will be studying here too, we had a fellowship dinner in church. Some youths went out to buy pizzas and kfc and others prepared salad (i helped a bit in that). And while waiting for the dinner to be ready, we also had hymn singing sessions. Then we started dinner and after clearing up and everything, we left Church at about 10.30pm (almost like SM liao:) Pictures of the fellowship can be seen from http://www.lingqian.fotopic.net/c1323320_15.html
Sunday was the day i moved into my new place. Before that Bro Nelson brought a heater over to pass to me at Kian's place, and we had lunch together with his family, and Lawrence, Chen Sheng and Hao came over also as they wanted to help to me move to my new place. After lunch, Lawrence drove me to the new place while Hao and Chen Sheng fetched my luggage along in Hao's car. Then after that we went the joined the rest of the brothers at a place called Ryde for football. And playing football in winter was good :) Pics: http://www.lingqian.fotopic.net/c1323320_37.html
And so this week i stayed in my new place, which is just actually 5 mins walked away from my school. Monday and Tues, i rotted at my room and did nothing much. Wed was orientation and Thurs i went out with Hao to fish market and then to the Manly beach, we ended going to Manly beach because Hao took a wrong turn and we were on the Sydney Bridge and had to cross it, and if we were to u-turn and cross back the bridge, we would have to pay toll, so we decided to drive to Manly :) Pics of these 2 days can be seen at: http://www.lingqian.fotopic.net/c1329151.html
S0 this pretty summed up what i have been up to for the past 2 weeks. Now is 5.45pm, i better start preparing to go to Church. I would be either staying over in Church or at Kian, Andy and Vincent's place again over the weekend, so enjoy the weekend and have a blessed Sabbath ahead.
